DAF Museum

For breakfast this morning we ate cinnamon rolls from a place called Cinnamood. They have 17 different flavors of cinnamon rolls, including 6 that are non-dairy which was nice for me. I let the kids pick out what flavors they wanted. Landon chose an Oreo flavor one and Kailey got a coconut one. I got a traditional as well as an apple roll that had cinnamon apple compote on top for Nate and I to share. Oreo crumble on top of cinnamon roll This morning there is mostly blue sky when I look out the window, so I wear just a light sweater over my shirt and leave my coat at the hotel, as I've been getting sweaty and hot with my unbreathable rain jacket. Today we are going to explore the DAF museum in Eindhoven. Surprisingly I've never been here in all the time I've stayed in Eindhoven, although I'm not much of an explorer on my own. The walk is just under 10 minutes from our hotel and we see some odd looking ducks along the way. After doing a Google lens on my picture I find i...

Another Rainy Day

Nate is quiet as a ninja as he wakes and gets ready and off to work. The kids and I are still trying to adjust to the time change, and we sleep in until 9 AM.   The kids and I take shifts eating breakfast and I wash the bowls and spoons in between and after we're done. Their cereal may not have a ton a sugar, but sometimes they eat hagelslag, which is a Dutch "breakfast" of sprinkles on bread. I bought some for the kids to try and they both like it…but it's hard to go wrong with sugar. We finally get ready to go and it's raining out. I see thunderstorms in the forecast so I don't want to wait any longer to head out, so we wear our rain coats and bring our umbrellas. Landon ...

Adjusting To A New Time And Place

6:45 AM....Nate's alarm goes off. He gets up to get ready for work. We both feel groggy as we woke up several times during the night. Thankfully I can stay in bed. The mini fridge was very loud with a droning pulsing sound around 3 AM, and I really struggled to sleep after that. I have a headache from my neck as the pillow-bed combo isn't great for me. Unfortunately I didn't bring pain meds other than the one dose of Advil I find in my purse. I take that and make a mental note to find more when we go out and explore the town. Our little studio is really only meant for two people, so that's all it's stocked for. Two small spoons, two large spoons, two small plates, two big plates, two bowls etc. so I'll need to wash dishes after each use to accommodate the four of us. There is a free shuttle that goes from our hotel to ASML, since this is the common place people stay when here with the company. It leaves at two different times in the morning, and comes back at tw...
